Yamaha backed team announce second rider for 2018

With the final pieces of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship falling into place, Team Toth have announced young French rider Valentin Grimoux as their second competitor, joining Alex Murley on the Yamaha YZF R-3.

The 21 year old had a tough year in the debut season for the class, as he secured one points scoring finish at his home circuit of Magny-Cours, after joining the team from Donington Park onwards. Looking forward to taking on a full season with the squad, he will no doubt be able to continue to learn and push forward in the competitive class, in a team he is familiar with.

Grimoux is delighted with the news: “I am very happy to join Team Toth full time on a Yamaha R3. I am very motivated and ready for the next season and feel that I learned a lot during this season. I want to do the best possible in order to best represent my country and Yamaha. I can’t wait to be on the bike and fight with the other riders in this magnificent world championship. Alex and I will be a good combination and I think we can make good results in 2018.”

Imre Toth, Team Manager adds: “After several weeks of negotiation we are very happy to announce that we will retain both riders from 2017! I am sure we can have excellent results with Alex and with Valentin. We are expecting to make a big step, and I am very confident that we can surprise some people with our achievements in 2018. A big thank you to Yamaha and our sponsors for enabling us to be back on track next season. WorldSSP300 is a very interesting category for new young talent and it is also good for the Superbike Championship as well. We will keep working hard before the first race and can’t wait to start our Winter Test program!”
